Founded in 1933, Llanymynech Golf Club is the only dual country golf course in Europe with 15 holes lying in Wales and 3 in England. Llanymynech is also the golf club where 2006 Ryder Cup Captain and Masters Champion Ian Woosnam O.B.E, learnt to play and still holds the course record today. The clubhouse is built around an old cottage and serves fresh, locally sourced food. There are a number of on site facilities including buggy hire and a fully stocked pro shop.
Llanymynech is a spectacular and enjoyable golf course that plays across the English/Welsh border. Playing on a clifftop the course is a heathland/parkland mix and drains particualrly well all year round. There is variety throughout with rocks, gullies and ancient battlements integrated within the course that make it truly unique. Llanymynech has a number of signature holes, the par 4, 18th plays from an elevated tee to a fairway far below and finishes on a spectacular clifftop green.
