Bentra Golf Course is a nine-hole course that keeps both beginners in mind with its wide, player-friendly fairways but also considers the more experienced golfers as well by including some that long hitters will enjoy. The course sprawls across mature parkland that is dotted with a few strategically placed bunkers. There aren't many trees, but the layout makes up for it in other ways. While it may not be the most challenging golf course, it is an enjoyable and affordable round that is accessible to anyone. Locals, no matter what the skill level, like the course because it offers great practice for an affordable price. James Braid, the founder and first president of the PGA, designed the course. His expertise and knowledge of the game is apparent throughout the design. After a round at Bentra Golf Course, golfers can enjoy a drink or a meal at the bar or restaurant, which overlook Larne Lough, offering scenic and tranquil views.
