Established in 1891 Wakefield Golf Club it is among the oldest clubs in Yorkshire situated only 5 minutes from the M1. Visitors and members and their guests are assured of a friendly welcome always. The course, designed by Sandy Herd and bunkered by Dr. Alister MacKenzie, is a challenging Par 72. Easy to walk, it comprises two loops of 9 holes both of which start and finish at the clubhouse. Good drainage and high standards of maintenance mean grass tees and regular greens are in play all year round, making it a great venue for golf in all seasons. It is ideal for and popular with visitors and societies; many of who make regular return visits. Away from the course enjoy relaxing in the newly refurbished clubhouse with its stunning views down the fairways. The clubhouse catering is popular, offering good traditional fare and excellent value.
