Matfen Hall Golf Club is rated as one of the best 27-hole golf courses in Northumberland. The purpose built clubhouse, called the Keepers Lodge, serves tasty home cooked food along with local beverages. A fully stocked pro shop is available should you need any new equipment and for practice purposes there is a driving range and putting green. For less experienced players there is even a 9-hole, par 3, course that can be played.

This golf course has many challenging signature holes, some of which have the fast flowing River Pont running through them. Out of many strong par 4 holes, the 14th is most definitely a memorable one. Adding to the many testing features of this golf course, the par 5 16th has a tricky dog leg to negotiate so watch out for this one. As well as a great 18 hole course, Matfen has a high quality nine hole par three golf course which is perfect for the less experienced golfer. There are plenty of other golf facilities on site, including a driving range, short game practice and two putting greens.
