Considered to be one of the best municipal courses in the country, Normanby Hall Golf Club is an impressive layout that belies any perceptions about public courses. Designed by Hawtree in 1976, the course is located in a lush area of parkland in North Lincolnshire and has an abundance of wildlife roaming the grounds. There is an excellent balcony overlooking the 18th green to enjoy a drink after the round.
At 6,548 yards Par 72, Normanby Hall Golf Club is a challenge not to be taken lightly. With tree-lined fairways and ample sand traps, there is plenty of trouble for wayward shots, and the wind can really play a part down the corridors of towering fir trees. The signature hole is the par 4 3rd, known as the ‘Devil’s Elbow’. It requires an accurate tee shot up to the dogleg to give you a manageable approach to the green, just watch out for the ravine.
