The Old course, formally a dairy farm, opened in 1973 forming the basis for Dale Hill as a golf club. Set out over approximately 130 acres, the old course offers stunning views over the Sussex countryside. The course measuring just over 5800 yards and is shorter than its sister, The Ian Woosnam Course, but still offers a great challenge to all levels of golfers.
Over the years Dale Hill Hotel & Golf Club has matured well and has seen many changes from its original layout including the introduction of the new 9th and 17th holes which had to be redesigned when the Ian Woosnam course was built.
The course has a blend of holes, most tree-lined, meaning finding the fairway round this layout is key. With small testing greens it is essential to be approaching the greens from the short grass, giving you as much control as possible to keep the golf ball on the small greens. If you were to miss the fairways the rough is not overly penalizing however the tree’s found either side of each hole means straying offline can be costly. Dale Hill Hotel & Golf Club is a par 69 for men and par 70 for ladies.
