The Addington has been part of the Altonwood group since 2006 and is consistently ranked in the top 100 courses in Great Britain and Ireland. The course was designed by John Frederick Abercrombie and opened in 1913. Comparable to Sunningdale Golf Club, but with its own strong identity, The Addington is a magnificent and mature heathland course with beautiful pine and birch trees throughout the course. No two holes are the same and will provide a test for any golfer. The fairways meander through mature pine and birch trees whilst the city skyline provides contrasting views from the hill tops. The bunkering is excellent, and the greens are true. The signature hole is the 13th – a 225 yard par 3 over a vale of tears to a green ringed by birch, mountain ash and clusters of Rhododendron.
