Established in 1887, the Irvine Golf Club is a traditional links course designed by one of Scotland's most famous course designers - James Braid. Its seaside location, which benefits from the Gulf Stream, means that this course is open year round. The traditional clubhouse provides exceptional fare in its restaurant and a fully stocked bar is on hand to provide your post-round celebratory drink. Other facilities include changing rooms, a practice area and a pro shop where you can hire buggies or trolleys or even a caddie should you need one.
As with all links courses the sea breeze can affect your game considerably depending on its severity. Throw in a smattering of well-positioned sand traps and gulley fairways and you have a course that provides a fantastic challenge along with some great background scenery out over the coastline. One last thing, the greens are extremely well kept and as such are very fast which can catch you out on the long putts.
