Opened in 1977, Barlaston Golf Club is an incredibly warm and welcoming place with a wonderful atmosphere to accompany you before and after your round. The club is located just outside of Stoke and is home to a Peter Alliss designed par 69 course. The Clubhouse has a great selection of wines, spirits and ales as well as a good restaurant. If you want to sharpen your game before your round, you can use the practice greens which may help while out on the course.
While this may not be a long course, there are plenty of hazards and challenges to keep even the most veteran golfer on their toes. Good course management and club selection is vital to make it through the various trees, sloping fairways, water hazards and deep bunkers. A sharp short game will help you achieve a good score as this tight course will punish those who don't pay attention. The dogleg par 5 9th has a stunning but difficult tee shot over the edge of a lake that also runs alongside the hole. Your second and third shot need to be kept in position or else you'll run into the lake or the deep rough.
