South Moor Championship course, designed by Dr Alister MacKenzie is a stunning venue. Filled with natural charm as it meanders between gorse, heather and native British Fern, round an enticing heathland layout. Each hole presents a different challenge and for golfers who like putting on large Augusta style greens, look no further than South Moor Golf Club. The greens provide a very tricky challenge and are definitely part of the defence round this challenging layout being very undulating and difficult to read. If you find the greens to be difficult, there isn’t much reprieve found round the rest of the course, the fairways round South Moor are lined with various hazards which can engulf your ball if not straight off the tee around South Moor. South Moor Golf Club has a feeling of space and areas of undeveloped woodland allow for a wide range of wildlife to thrive. Birds of Prey including buzzards, owls, red kites and kestrels can be seen by the observant.
