Killeen Golf Club is a par-72 layout that sprawls across verdant countryside dotted with lakes and trees, both of which were utilized in the design. The course was founded in 1980 but it has undergone a number of renovations to its size and design since then that have both improved the quality and increased the difficulty. A decade after it opened, Tom Craddock and Pat Ruddy were enlisted to completely redesign the layout. Almost another decade later, the extensive work of Maurice Kelly and Bernard Mullins brought it up to championship standards. The golf course was revamped with USGA-standard greens as well as a state-of-the-art drainage and irrigation system, ensuring that the course has excellent playing conditions the whole year. Killeen Golf Club's tree-lined fairways and strategically placed bunkers present a fair challenge. Water hazards also come into play on a few holes. In addition to the course, golfers can get further practice with the club's short game facilities.
