Originally established as a 9 hole course in 1906, Ravensworth Golf Club in Gateshed now offers an 18 holes challenging golfers of all abilities. Although quite short, measuring less than 6000 yards, the Par of 69 proves a tough test on this moorland/parkland course. Ravensworth Golf club is a tight tree lined course with fast running greens. The rough is not overly punishing but find yourself offline round this layout and you may find yourself in a lot of tree trouble so finding the fairways is key around this course.
A key hole on this layout can be found on the par three fifth. A demanding hole, with an elevated tee shot playing over bushes and tree’s to a plateau green found well below the level of the tee box. The green itself is heavily guarded by five bunkers so accuracy is essential on this hole, accuracy is a running theme around this tricky layout.
