Thornton Golf Club was originally founded by a group of railway workers in the summer of 1921. The club & course were moved in 1925 to The Station Road, originally as a 9-hole golf course before being extended to 18-holes 50 years later. Located under an hour’s drive from the home of golf, Thornton Golf Club is perfectly positioned among a stretch of quality golf courses in Fife. This tree lined par 69 measures 6,210 yards making it playable and enjoyable for golfers of all abilities. A great blend of long and short par 4’s added to 3 strong par 3’s & 2 long par 5’s creates an enjoyable golfing experience, with every aspect of the game being tested on every hole. The clubhouse was opened in 1996 and provides the perfect setting to prepare for your round over a snack, with views of the 2nd green, 18th green and beyond hinting at some of the challenges awaiting each visitor. Although length from the tee isn’t a necessity, well positioned bunkering await any shots lacking accuracy or conviction. For many years, immaculate putting greens have been a known trademark at Thornton as well as the warm welcome.
