Golf Courses in Montgomery, TX

A fast-growing Houston suburb north of The Woodlands, Montgomery combines its small-town feel with fast-growing housing developments. Montgomery is actually one of the oldest towns in Texas and the birthplace of the Lone Star Texas flag. Located on the southwestern edge of Sam Houston National Forest in western Montgomery County, the growth of the town has also included some nice golf additions in the area. The public can get tee times, for example, at the re-imagined Margaritaville Resort on Lake Conroe or April Sound Country Club, which is open to the public. Grand Lake Golf Club, a semi-private Gary Player design, is another public option, as is West Fork Golf & Country Club, which is located on the northern edge of Conroe. Montgomery has several top-notch private clubs, too, led by Blue Jack National, Tiger Woods' first U.S. design; Walden on Lake Conroe; 54-hole Bentwater Country Club and 27-hole Woodforest Golf Club.
