Golf Courses in Huntsville, TX

Home to Sam Houston State University, several Texas prisons and the imposing Sam Houston statue and museum, the city of Huntsville has a few golf courses as well. The best public course is Raven Nest Golf Club, a municipal that also serves as the home course of the Sam Houston State golf team. Designed by Tripp Davis and opened in 2001, the course has a unique links feel to it and is a good value. Twenty-seven hole Elkins Lake Country Club is also a good option if you get a tee time at this enjoyable private facility. And just north of Houston in Trinity is Westwood Shores, a quality semi-private course that plays nearly 6,800 yards. Also worth mentioning is Whispering Pines Golf Club near Trinity. The private club has often been ranked as the best course in Texas.
