Nashboro Golf Club may not be well known to traveling golfers visiting Nashville, but it is one of Music City s most attractive public tee times. Many local golfers call this friendly club, located five miles south of Nashville International Airport and 10 miles from the heart of downtown, their home course. Nashboro Golf Club s classically designed parkland layout opened in 1975. It presents a fun game for players of all abilities, but it is no pushover. Course architect Benjamin J. Wihry carved a championship routing through woodlands with plenty of elevation changes. Although houses extend along the perimeter quite close to the action in spots, for the most part, trees lend the playing field a tranquil aura and provide seclusion from distractions. Nashboro Golf Club extends from 5,485 yards to 6,891 yards from four sets of tee markers. Choosing the correct set is key to your enjoyment, as many of the holes churn through tight, tree-lined fairway corridors that are further dotted with strategically placed bunkers. A few back tee boxes start back in chutes before the fairway opens up in the landing areas. You ll need to be able to hit it straight here. Other than the small creeks running through the golf grounds, water only comes into play on two holes. Nashboro Golf Club features big greens and a few of them tilt emphatically from back to front. The club is known to get its premium Mini Verde grassed putting surfaces running very fast when gearing up for a tournament. Although Nashboro Golf Club has some up and down terrain the approach shot on holes 11 and 16 are straight uphill many players elect to walk rather than take a cart. Practice facilities are limited to a putting green, but it is large enough for a little chipping work. The elegant clubhouse features a well-stocked pro shop and a 19th hole with a full-service bar and grille.
