Aberdelghy Golf Club
Bells Lane, Lambeg, County Antrim, BT27 4QHAberdelghy Golf Club is sandwiched between the River Lagan and the railway line, only 1 mile from the centre of Lisburn, Aberdelghy Golf course is an excellent challenge for both the novice and experienced golfer. One of the first municipal golf courses to be built in Northern Ireland, Aberdelghy Golf Club was founded in 1986 and designed by Alec Blair and Greg Ferris as a 9 hole golf course. In 1998 the course was extended to 18 holes. In June 2011, the course reopened after the completion of the first phase of an intensive improvement program which included a major overhaul of the drainage system, several new greens, tee boxes and bunkers, several holes lengthened and a new irrigation system. Although a relatively short course measuring 4,227 metres for the men and 3,964 metres for the ladies this Par 66 promotes an emphasis on accuracy rather than distance. Water comes into play on no less than five of the holes. The signature hole is undoubtedly the 3rd at 340 metres played as a dogleg through tall trees to an undulating green which is well protected by water. Why not consider Aberdelghy Golf Club as the venue for your next Outing, Corporate Day or for a friendly day out?
