The course measures 6,498 yards from the white tees, with the par 71 proving to be a true challenge to golfers of all abilities. Heworth Golf Club traditionally plays like an inland links course, with holes separated by rough and firm and fast fairways with slick running greens as always. The fabulous grown up trees lining most fairways making it very picturesque from start to finish. There aren’t many courses where you can gaze at a 1,000-year-old cathedral as you wait your turn to putt. Heworth also provide a great practice area and putting green facilities to get your eye in beforehand. The clubhouse is a must see if you’re stopping by, pop in for a snack or refreshment in the magnificent clubhouse. This place is a super fun golf course and a hidden gem in York.
